Cords

There are six basic cords in NC JROTC.  Four of them stand for the teams (Raiders, Riffle, Drill, and Color Guard), one for the staff and one for the assistant staff.

• The Assistant Staff Officers wear a GREEN cord.
• The Drill Team members wear a BRIGHT RED cord.
• The Riffle Team members wear a BUFF cord.
• The Color Guard members wear a WHITE cord.
• The Raiders members wear a BLACK cord.
• All nine Staff members wear a YELLOW-GOLD cord.

You can only wear of maximum of (2) cords.  You wear the higher priority cord on your left, the lesser priority cord on your right.  If only one is worn, it goes on your left.

	Battalion Staff – Awarded by the SAI and AI
	Riffle Team – Awarded by the Riffle Team Commander
	Color Guard – Awarded by the Command Sergeant Major
	Raider Team – Awarded by Raider Team Commander
	Drill Team – Awarded by Drill Team Commander
